Spectra audio problem

One of my Spectras is acting up. It's been working flawlessly for over two years in the Exped, then one day it decided not to work. The odd thing is, the radio SEEMS to work fine, but no audio can be heard at all. After troubleshooing, I found that it was not the speaker/speaker cable/connectors, but rather the radio itself. When I remove main power to the radio, then plug it back in, the radio works fine, and I hear perfect audio for about 2 minutes. Then no audio. (But radio continues to look as if it's working fine.) What's going on?

Radio Specs:

Mod# D45KGA5JC7AK
800Mhz Type II trunking
Remote mount
No Zones
Never TX

There is another radio with the same model number and codeplug right next to it in the Exped, and it's working fine.

Bad audio amp.
Part number for the audio amplifier on a Spectra:
5180065C19

The device usually has the following information
printed on the case: ST Microelectronics TDA7256

Same part is used in numerous car stereo applications.

Price is about $26 from Motorola.

It may not be the Audio output IC, save some dollars,..maybe.
Look for corrosion arround the Audio IC and the four electolitic caps there. I have the better than Motorola replacement caps in stock.

If you are not good at soldering, DO NOT TRY.. not good at surface mount rework, do not take the chance and distroy the Command board. I'll be glad to do the work for you, PM me.
