Why is it that with some sabers the "SABER" name plate appears yellow and on other models the writting is white? Does this differentiate between bands or model types?

Hi:
As you may or may not be aware, the
Saber Series has been around for some
time....Time damages the color of the
Model / Serial tag.
They start out as White, as time or
the enviroment has a impact on aging
the nameplate.
If you send in a Radio into the Service
Depot, many times it will come back with
a New Model / Serial Tag...May not be
exactly the same, but its still nice to
have when re-selling a radio

Thanks Monty, I guess the pictures are deceiving- I just wasn`t sure if it was an indicator of a specific model or type- Thanks -J

I think he was refering to the "SABER" tag on the front of the radio. I too have seen both white and a few yellow "SABER" stickers.
So do the yellow "SABER" stickers on the front of the radio mean anything special ?
Dan...

Me too I have seen firsthand yellow saber front stickers.....same with JT1000 in light Motorola Blue (like Ht-90 stickers) and in the silver/white) this must represent the timefram or A,B,C,D version

Yellow on that label is an indicator of a submersible radio, that's all.

How about a Saber Securenet-S ? What's the 'S' for ? See these often on EBay and most don't have the yellow front label so I guess it's not submersible ?
