I know of someone who is looking to see if anyone in the Michigan area knows how to properly run a "hot" wire (main power wire) from one of the two terminal posts under the hood in a Chevy Impala to the side of the vehicle and install a power block.

If you do this type of work in the Michigan area, perfer the north half of Michigan from Grand Rapids North or just a little south of there, please let me know so I can send this fella your way. Also include what you would charge to do this for labor and parts, and if you offer any type of warranty for your work/parts.

are you just lookign at installing a constant 12v supply of power from the battery to a distrubution block?

If so...it's pretty easy in my own opinion. You can just run a legnth of cable (gauge depends of what you are running with it) and put a fuse at the battery, as well as one at the block itself for safety.

I have 2 in my little car right now, one is a marine style one, the other is what an audiophile would use.

Check out a marine parts store near you, they have some killer power blocks...most of which are weather tight, so they oculd be mounted under the hood.

I am sure someone else will chime in here about this too.

I know I could do it, however I don't know exactly what I am doing or what the best/quickest way is to get it ran into the car.
