How can i wire a HMN3000 Desk Mic directly to a MC1000 DC Deskset. Does anyone know what the colors go....

Where are you trying to wire it to? Where the handset normally connects?

I don't have one here in front of me here at home, but what you want to do is very simple. There's only 4 wires for the handset...ground, ptt, rx audio & tx audio. You only need to be concerned with 3...you don't need the rx audio. Finding the tx audio is very easy with a scope or even a multimeter on the 'AC volts' setting. The PTT will short to the ground whenever the transmit button on the handset is pressed, so those wires are easy to find as well.

Next, look in any Maxtrac or GM300 manual for the mic jack board layout & schematic. The pin numbers are very clearly marked as to which pin does what in the mic jack, which in turn will tell you which wire does what in the HMN3000 mic. I'll give you a hint...the 3 wires you need are numbered 3, 4, & 5...this is looking at the HMN3000 mic plug in your hand with the cord coming out of the bottom of the connector, and the retaining tab on the underside. Pin 1 starts on the left.

To wire it in, I'd use an RJ-45 telco box to plug the HMN3000 into, then wire that to the remote using an RJ-22 connector (same as what you have on the handset right now). This way nothing gets hacked up in the remote or the mic, and the HMN3000 can be easily unplugged & the handset plugged back in, if so desired.

This should get you going.
