Whats the trick to getting more power out of the GTX 900 mobile ?
The most I've been able to get out is 7 watts on 902 & 5 watts on 927.
I have one radio that puts out Less than 1 watt...... Have tried diff TX POWER levels in RSS with no success .... TEXT here on Batlabs says that someone is getting 15 to 18 Watts.... Watt gives ??
Any Ideas ???

Well, there's 2 things I'd check.

1) Is the final blown?

2) Try tweaking the TX Power output settings in the RSS.

If I remember right a Stock GTX mobile has a 12 watt max...

My GTX mobile was putting out 12 watts on some freqs and 1 watt on others. One of the fellows in this group sent me a code plug from another radio that, for some reason, would output 12 watts on all frequencies in question, and after some work I managed to get it into my radio. Now mine also puts out 12 watts on 927.4875, 927.5, and 927.6, as well as 902.4875. I think they're only rated for 10-12 watts, so trying to get much more out of it could spell disaster.

I did determine that cable lengths between the radio, wattmeter, and dummy load, seriously affected my power readings, by as much as 50%. A standard Bird 43 meter's RF section is over 1/4 wavelength at 900 MHz, so even that has an effect. Eventually I fed my radio into a Motorola service monitor which has a built-in dummy load and can measure power. Things were a lot smoother with that piece of equipment.

You must clone in a codeplug from a radio that does not have the problem. Once you do that you can change the codeplug to suit your needs and the power problem remains fixed. Email me fo rmore info.
