I would like to know if anyone has ever hooked up a LDG Repeater Voting Unit model # RVS-8 to a GR1225 Repeater. I would like to know how to wire this to and from the GR1225 to the LDG Repeater Voting System. Any help would be much appreciated and also how to program the LDG Voting Unit. This is a inexpensive votong unit that i am trying to tie together with a GR1225 Repeater.
Thanks
John

If you don't have one, you can download the manual for it here:
http://www.ldgelectronics.com/manuals.html
There used to be an article about the RVS-8 on
http://www.repeater-builder.com but the link appears to be dead. I've never seen one, so I can't help you any further, perhaps someone else here can.

I'm 99% sure that is the voter used on the 440 system here. For such an inexpensive voter, it works VERY well. The whole system is being revamped at the moment but at it's peak, there were 6 receivers connected to it and it worked great. If someone didn't tell me it was that voter, I would have had no reason to believe it wasn't a "real" voter like a GE or SpectraTAC.
Just bear in mind there is no supervision of the inputs and no fail mode. On a GE, SpectraTAC, or JPS voter, it will assume that a loss of status tone with no voice for "X" number of seconds is a failed circuit locking up the system and will stop trying to vote on that site. This voter does not have status tone capability or automatic failure. In all of the years it has been in service, it hasn't been a problem yet but if this is public safety, you might want to concider that.
