XTS3000 issues

Hey all, I've got a question that's been bugging me for awhile.

I've got a VHF XTS3000 that has an annoying problem. The radio works perfectly, except for the key tones. In the CPS, I've got it set to beep when you push a key, such as the light or other such things. However, NOTHING I do can get the radio to actually "beep". The only way I can see to do this is if I program the concentric switch to Mute/Blank.

Like I said, it's more of an annoyance than anything, but I'd like to find out what's up with the thing.

Oh, just thought of this... It's a Model I, so putting MUTE in the menu unfortunatly, won't help me any.

Thanks

Mike

Off the top of my head:
You have "alert tones" set to enable? And the audio offset is 0db?
It's in the "radio wide" config.

I've had that before...

Alert Tones are enabled, Alert Tone Volume Offset set to 0, and "Mute Tones Operation" is set to disabled.

It's rather weird...heh

Maybe the personality is set to 'surveillance' mode?
