My XTS radio is programmed to turn on the back light when put in the xtva, and unless I am wrong, the radio speaker is supposed to mute when in the xtva with an amplified speaker attached. Neiter of these happen, Does anyone know of an easy way to test the radio or xtva to see which is damaged? One other thing that does not seem to work properly is the TX led, it does not come on when the tx led on the radio does. (I have an RF adapter installed on the radio)
Thank in advance for all the help!

XTVA / XTS 3000 III question
Moderator: Queue Moderator
This may be a bit obvious but try another radio ...
Outside of that my guess wouldbe the XTVA has a problem.
There is a uP in the XTA that talks to the radio over the serial bus.
can you still read the radio in the RSS ?
I would check the conacts and verify connections in the XTVA.
Looks like there is about 5 or 6 connections needed for the serial to work
...
The external microphone does not use the uP ...basically just like any external microphone for the XTS ..audio and PTT

and i would add that XTVA/radio operation has been revised about 10x since inception.
there is a "re-flash" utility JUST FOR THE XTVA... firmware rev's for the radios addressing problems...blah blah blah
so, in other words - it could be the firmware in your radio or xtva too.

I have no way to read the radio. I have the rib and cable but no RSS/CPS. I Will have to try a different radio, but I was a little worried that if infact something was damaged in the XTVA that damaged my radio that it would damage the next radio too?
Thanks for the help

PS I posted in vehicle installs but will ask here as well... does any one know if there is a VHF/800 dual band antenna available? I would like to be able to use both my vhf and 800 radios in the xtva (no amplifier attached)
Thanks for the help

My XTS3000 is a legit motorola radio, I did purchase it off ebay, but it has all tags and was in the factory motorola boxes when I got it,
I think my problem is the Radio, I tried my new XTS5000 in the same xtva and the led's all worked, but it did not transfer the audio from the xts to the amplified speaker... so I am thinking I have a flash problem with my 3000 and an audio problem with the xtva... any one have any further.
Thanks
