Hello all,

I've been wanting to post some of our install pics for quite some time. We finally got our website up and running. I hope this doesn't break any of the board rules, if so i'll remove it immediately.

Probably an agency or individual who doesn't want to drill holes in the roof. It's an ugly alternative, but works.

Frankly, anyone who has midi music or such playing when i go on their site instantly has 3 strikes against them. the only thing that might keep me from hitting my back button and never returning is if they have a no music or mute button.

I'd love to see more of your site, but that pet peeve made me close it after 3 clicks.

Yeah, but it's on all the installs...... I've never installed a lightbar like this. Where exactly does the cable go into the vehicle?

It's a Misouri thing. The MHP does it on their cars for resale value. I had an Ex -Des Peres MO 91 Caprice. It had the same set up Bar cable up the drivers side window trim and trunk lip antennas.

You gotta get software or something to make the pics not so HUGE when you open them. We're not looking for criminal evidence---they don't have to be 9600x10240 res. I have a 20.1in LCD monitor and I only got like a quarter of the pic in it. Adobe photoshop has a "web" option when saving pics and it will "optimize" it for web use. Will turn that huge pic into a decent clean & clear one at a quarter of the space if not better.

Here in Missouri that's how we install light bars. 95% of the departments we deal with request that we run lightbar cables up drivers side "A" Pillar because they know that when the car hits 60,000 miles it is going to be stripped and sold, so they don't want a big honk'in hole in the top when it comes time for resale.

Sorry, but that's really stupid. It's an old police car at resale. It's gonna have holes. Whackers love them. Deal with it.

CVPIs have a hard enough time keeping their resale.. and if they retire them at 60k that's no time. You'd hardly install the lightbar before you have to redo it, this makes things more reuseable, faster. And they'll get a little more back at the auction.

I read an article about them 'Missouri boys. Sounds like they get a lot of cash for their used cars---lots of other PD's buy em used from the state I guess. Still very old and unprofessional looking.

I'm sorry if you think it looks unprofessional, but thats all we see around here. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has done it that way for years, and when there cars rack up 60K, they are usually sold to Local police dept's and Fire dept's at state auction. There big thing is Easy in, Easy Out of Equiptment, as they are constantly changing out cars. The troopers who drive them don't mind, they get a new car almost every year. The Only way you can tell if a car was an HP car that was retired is the Black rubber cover they snap over the hole in the rear fender where they remove that big Low-Band spring whip. Other than that, car usually appears stock with the exception of the dome light and key dinger wires being cut.

Actually... MSHP retires cars before they hit 50,000... usually when you get one from them, they are between 45,000 and 48,000 and immaculate condition. The last one I saw (the one that I posted install pictures on) looked like it just came off the lot with the exception on the low band whip on the side. MSHP makes quite a bit off selling these to other agencies, and the agencies benefit as well, getting a good quality vehicle for cheaper than new.

Lots of departments in Iowa do this as well.

That Detective's 'marked' pickup is laughable, and with a radar gun ?
Guess he's not doing too much 'investigating'. Maybe it's my perspective
of large city policing but if I showed up with something like that I think a few would have laughed so hard they would have lost bladder control.

The Investigations truck is actually a road patrol vehicle, hence the radar unit. Its the only truck in a fleet of several crown vics.

Not that I would ever second guess another's stuff, I just had some questions/thoughts about what I have seen...

I notice that you run all your lightbar cable down the driver's side of the car? With th e LED bars, I don't see any trouble with that, but when you are using power hungry halogen, have you ever had trouble with RADAR antennas being so close to them?

I saw that you folks put a RADAR counting unit inside the console of that Impala....hopefully that was the customers request, and hopefully you counseled them on how dangerous it is to take your eyes off the road for any length of time, let alone long enough to located that display and comprehend what its showing. I realize that Impala's present a unique problem considering that the entire dashboard blows up when the airbags go off, but still.....wow.

Like the undercover/hidden install on the chiefs truck, you wouldnt think that much stuff could go into the console and hide...but then again, technology keeps getting smaller.

OK, IM done. Overall the page looks pretty good and most of the work looks pretty good. I am really surprised that you guys stay busy up that way, theres just not much near Marcelline...but keep at it.

This is either an error on your part or an act of idiocy on their's. CVPI's have this thing called "Dark Mode" that takes care of dome lights and chimes. All you have to do is plug in a blue connector under the glove box. Want it back on? Unplug it.

hello everyone. The first issue I would like to address is the fact that I just wanted everyone to see what my FIRST website looked like and had to offer, I didn't realize that it was going to open a install bashing forum. Second of all to commtek's response, these lightbar wires are ran according to customers specifications, which are in turn municipalities and county agencies that are paying good money to have the equipment installed the way they want, regardless of what wackers like or dislike. I greatly appreciate everyone's feedback, but like I said I didn't post it on here to get anyone in an uproar or bash each others work. And one more item of clarification is that we are located in Chillicothe, MIssouri.

Almost all government fleet vehicles in Australia are sold off at around 40000km, so they retain half-decent resale value.

Cop cars here still end up with a few holes, namely one in the roof for the midband VHF quarterwave (on vehicles in country areas), and one hole in the B-pillar for the lightbar and UHF antenna cables.

I cant see the pic on the web page, but anyways Kansas Highway Patrol is also doing the no drill install on their crown vics, they are using liberty bars and running cable down passenger a pillar and sticking the cable down with i think radio shack stick on cable ties, very very corny looking!
I can understand a no drill antenna on the roof, about any dept that buys the used khp vehicle is probably going to drill for their bars anyways, so one hole wont hurt. Its just my opinion.
