A System Key is a file that is imported into your RSS/CPS and allows you to setup a trunking system in the software. It must be present to fully confiure and connect to a given trunk system. And each trunk system has it own system key.
There are ways to make your own and you can find out how on the main site. From what i have heard though, these home-brew system keys will not work with CPS.
Also, there is the legit way and that is to use a System Key Generator. When i say legit i mean that the system admin of the trunk system must load this key or it must be done by a radio shop that has authoriztaion to load it.
If you have and use the system key generator and get caught you could find yourself spending some time in the State or Federal Pen and paying alot of money to Motorola for violation of the Software License Agreement.
I am sure there are certainly more qualified individuals on this forum that can give you more info on this topic also.
Please guys if i am wrong about the above info let me know. I dont want to put out bad or incorrect information. I value this site and dont want to be one of the ones that sounds like an idiot.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH INFO

Just to be a bit more precise: the Motorola TRS "system key" is not buried in the RSS. It is a stand-alone binary file, almost always 30 or 31 bytes in reported length, which is read by the RSS when, as and if you try to change certain parameters in a TRS with the same SysID. So the system key file must reside on your hard drive, and the RSS must be informed as to where to look for it, but it is not a part of the RSS itself.
