So, is there an easy or official way to make both the Gold Elite foot pedals be for General Transmit, rather than just the right pedal? We have never needed nor do we intend to need to use the left pedal for monitor. There is a button on the console if we need that. It really suck once in a while when you ramble off a call then realize you are stepping on the wrong pedal.

As far as I know, both of our pedals are setup to transmit. I don't know if it's hardwired that way or....?

I'm sure it could be rewired to work the way you want. But, if you ever replaced the footswitch, you'd be back where you are now.

What about getting a piece of wood or metal and placing it across both switches so there's really only one, and wherever you stomp on it, they both get pressed?

Of course, "officially" you're supposed to monitor the frequency before you transmit on it, to minimize interference; something we all do !

Oh, of course. I always push the monitor button the screen before transmitting! :)

I'm sure I could open it up and jumper them all together or physically attach one pedal to the other. I am hoping there is "normal" method before I go at it with wire cutters :)

Dual PTT pedals are hardwired in the pedals. Alex's is that way.

I get the feeling I am going to have A LOT of free time in there this weekend. Looks like I'll be doing a snow-storm double on saturday, day shift on sunday, and I don't know if I'll be going home saturday night or staying there in a cot.

Just add a jumper from the PTT one over to the PL Disable one, disconnect the PL Disable wire and tape it back.

Usally both switches are SPDT momentary.

Will's right on the money, I've modified many of them as well.

Why use a block of wood when its a simple re-wiring of the pedals????
