Demo Vehicle

Post by Cheeko »

Hi guys

greetings from over the pond :D

iv been following the various topics on this board for a while on the side lines and you guys have been such a great help and the collective knowledge is 2nd to none.

Im currently putting together a plan for a demonstrater unit and to be honest if I just stuck a mag on the roof it would please most of the people here but I want something thats going to kick arse like nothing else, the base vehicle is going to be an estate probably a Vectra as I can get them cheap enough to be viable, what I have in mind at the moment is an LED lightbar prob the LFL Liberty and TIR6's in the front grill and maybe a pair over the front mirror im also going to mount 2 red TIR6's in the rear bumper with clear lens option fitted, its going to have full hands free siren unit and a low voltage switch panle. I do alot with motorsports and volunteer medics so the units going to be a mix of the two I think as there my main customer base at the moment.

What I really need help with is as I say I want a kick arse demo unit one that im going to spend as much time and money as it needs to be 110% and not rush anything if you were to say yeah bring it over let me see it what would you want to see on it equipment layout what toys, etc etc

I know you guys do this everyday and so far its been extra money for something I can do now I have regular requests for work and if it carrys on over the next 6 months then the money I have is going on a demo car and to start the business up as I have the tools already so at the moment the only costs im going to have are the demo and advertising thats were the demo car comes in I want it to scream quality profesionalism and my company name

Ok guys over to you let the creative juics flow

Al the best

Hi guys

Thanks for all the cool ideas over here were not allowed to mix red and blue only alowed red on the rear to warn others thats it and then its a bit of POLICE ONLY but everyones doing it and nothings being said as long as its sensible and a good reason to back up.

Iv taken on board what you have said and I have since found out that having a traffic director is a bit dodgy so I have come up with the following.

Liberty LED lightbar so that its small and no current draw, up front going with a headlight flasher to do double hit each side then both sides then alt as normal wig wag, going to go with TIR6's in the grill I put a pair on at the weekend on my own car and bugger me 8) I LOVE EM lol going to go with them on the front sides to for the fend off posistion and 2 reds in the rear bumper linked to the lightbar. Thinking of going for talon for under the rear view mirror as they kick ass. Not to sure if im putting anything in the rear window yet but I am going to put some on the underside of the tailgate as its up so that there facing back incase any of the lightbar is blocked from view they do this on the local ambulance RRU's and they look smart think there whelen grill lights but I may go for steady burn TIR6s again for this as for the controler there is a company here that does a soft switch job with a big RESPONSE and ARRIVAL buttons so that you just program it up and hit em when needed plus its all low current switching so nice and easy to put in. The only other things im stuck on now is what to put inside the unit as goodies, I do alot at motorsport events so im thinking of a mix between an ambulance RRU and the full motorsport kit as its at motorsport events that it will be in the public eye so to speak the kit itself is not too bad to do just the toys now will have to have a sit down and think about them I have decided that its eaither going to be a Renault Laguna or Vauxhall Vectra Estate as there both available and cheap to get and run.

Thanks again for your help some of your goodies are starting to find there way here now so trying to keep upto date as much as I can with the newer stuff but I know LED is the way were going and im trying to utilise that as much as I can in the overall package.

Oh yeah also going with an LED message sign in the rear window too :-) I know what I would want if I was to ring up and say hey let me see what you can do just trying to get an idea of what other people are going to want to see and what there going to expect to see in or on the unit and what I can or cant do at the moment most of my work has been for volunteers medics on call docs etc odd mountain rescue worker and the likes.

Thanks again guys keep up the good advice

Those damn LED message boards are the best if you have the programming cable and software for them. I can think of a few things I would like to put in them... ESPECIALLY for tailgaters!!!
