MSF5000 Analong station to Digital Capable Station

Post by MotorolaGeek »

I have a MSF5000 Analog only station, I was given a digital capable control tray for it. What would I have to do to make the analog station into a digital capable station? Thanks MOTOROLAGEEK

My two bits worth:
The basic difference is that you must provide pin 9 of the ribbon cable with 5v. This is for the receve VCO, the Digital station has a dedicated supply on the interconnect board.
This is called R2 Strobe in the digital station.
Note that there are several versions for the SSCB which are designed for various bands, and have different values for parts in the audio path.
Aloha, Bernie
