xts5k DTMF and/or QCII decode

Post by radioactive69 »

I haven't found any one confirming if the XTS5000 with HOST/DSP 4.80 or better will do DTMF paging decoding or Quick Call two-tone paging decoding?

Since AS3 don't do it... I would assume XTS5000 won't, yes?

Thanks for any information you can provide,

Doug.

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

As far as I have seen and remembered....no it won't do it. I have heard though, its in the works or has been released, but I cannot honestly say for certain.

If you don't require ASTRO, trunking or encyption, I believe the CDM series will do all that and more... Kinda sucks, but hey..

ok I know I'm digging up an old grave but I've been told by techs at Motorola that just did upgrades on a few of our XTS5000's that Quick Call II is an option with the R08.00.10 firmware they just upgraded them to, Does anyone have a discription of what this feature does I've never come across "Quick Call II" before and also can someone confirm the latest DSP and HOST firmware for the XTS5000 thanks!

It's a two-tone paging format, which nowadays is popular only in North America.

And you do need at least R08.00.00 to get DTMF decode and QCII on an XTS5000.

Cool thanks Marc... Whats the latest revision of CPS8?

I think CPS and firmware normally come in paired revisions so would it be CPS 08.01.01?

Marc,

Do you know if QC-II can be enabled on a trunking talkgroup or not?
