I just recieved a Whelen 295HFSA1 that will not work at all. Upon inspection of the inside I discover a component that has blown near the back of the main circuit board. (Q1 if you have a diagram)

I wish I could read what the component says but its too fried, probably due to a reverse polarity hookup or something...

I tried talking to whelen with no luck. If anyone could please help me I would greatly appreciate it.!

Thanks,

Nick

The 295HFSA1 has a 5 year warranty. Call repair and send it in if its still under warranty. If its not, send it in anyways. The cycle time is usually a day or two. (860)526-9504

Since I opened the unit, would it have voided the warranty?

Nope, not unless you messed around with stuff that would be obvious...

No, but wiring it backwards would void the warranty. Hope your employer has good insurance :D
