I have two MTR2000's UHF repeaters located at a 9000 foot mountain top. The site is solar power only. With the wx in Southern California we have had two total power failures at the site. The power comes back up slowly and the repeaters do not come out of the diagnostic startup modes. I have to go to the site remove power, wait 30 seconds, and plug them back in before they work again (giant pain, helicopter ride and all). Does anyone know how to bypass the diagnostic mode?

I think it might be easier for you to find a product that'll wait a moment or two before applying full A/C power to the repeaters, rather than skipping the diagnostic mode...which I don't think you can.

Newmar makes a line of low voltage disconnects for 12 and 24 volts. Hook one of these up, it will disconnect the supply from the station at your set low voltage point and reconnect when voltage returns to at least your set point. Tessco number is 67608. I just happen to have one on the shelf here. Handles 30 amps. I don't have the 24 volt model but I do know it handles 20 amps.

You have any back up capability like a extra battery stack? You could have a primary stack for every day and a backup when the primary fails. It's probably not a option if your primary charging source is solar.
