m130 Discriminator audio?? pin 11??

Post by CTAMontrose »

got 2 of these beasts, finally figured out how to get COR on pin 8.. lol

next problem.. NEITHER radio will pass RX audio out of pin 11..

any ideas?

im using the bi-directional cable i made for my maxtracs, works fine on the maxtracs, not on the M130s...

when i hook a maxtrac up as the RX radio, it will key the M130 and pass audio... when i hook an M130 up as a RX radio with the maxtrac as a TX radio, the maxtrac will key up, but no audio.

the common thread seems to be a lack of RX audio on the M130s.. is there a jumper to re-enable said audiO?

Just out of curiosity, what did you do to get COR out of the units?

what i had to do to get cor on pin 8, and discriminator on pin 11 was to put the RSS in repeater mode, program the radio as a TX, read the CP, then program it as a RX radio (setup as 'Radius RICK' mode). The RSS then popped up a screen saying "configuring accessory pins". Once i did that, i reprogrammed it back into radio mode and it kept the pins the same. It is now repeating bi-directional.

as for the logic board, the only sticker on it says:

9939
PLMN4012B

the radio is using HLN8121A V.25.02 firmware

Excellent info. Someone had posted awhile back about using repeater mode to get a proper COR, but didn't give details. Good work.
