astro saber

Post by wacker13 »

My saber had accidentially got inhibited a few months ago. It says I need a system administrator or depot tool to overide the problem. 2 things is there anyway to tell which system administrator inhibited your radio and Is there anyother way of overiding the command so It can be programmed again and not just used as a paperweight. Please any help is greatly appreciated I bought the radio to be used on my counties new system, there getting ready to program the radios and I need this one to be up and running. Either reply to me via the forum or personal message . thanks for any help in the matter

Ok, first off, you obviously found a way to program it on to the system. You were stupid enough to actually use it as a scanner, or whatever, and now your radio is inhibited by the system admin.

Now, let me get this straight. You were stupid enough to program it up on a system, probably key up a few times, get your radio killed... NOW... they are supposably going to put the radio on the system for you after killing it? I don't buy it.

Here's how to fix your problem:

1) Sell the radio.

2) Buy a scanner.

I just want to say that no I never keyed up on the system, but I was dumb enough to let it affiate automatically on the system and that why it was probably turned off. No the system that shut me off is not the system that is going to program my radio. MY county is going to a trunked system and my work did not have enough money to buy all of us radios, so I bought my own and in the process of waiting for this system to come online, I decicded to try to listen to other active systems on trunk, just to use the radio. Well now the county is ready to program all the radios and mine is inhibited. I was just trying to get ahead of the game and try to give them a unprogrammed radio with no problems, like starting from scratch.

You know, the username is *very* appropriate in this case...

I'll go with Alex on this one - I don't buy it.

Look,

You still transmitted illegally on the system, your radio affiliated, and therefore, was inhibited.

I think you deserve your paperweight. I'll buy it from you for $50 to use as a door stop if that helps you get something back on your investment...

What radios do you own?: Too many!

Who programmed it on the first system?

Whoever did needs a "whack" on their head.

If your head is on the chopping block because the radio got inhibitted, then you need to trade places with whoever programmed the radio and once he's been dealt with, you're be better off not to deal with them again.

I'll raise Alex's offer - I'll give you $62.50 for it for the parts...

Well I am sure "wacker" that if you explain how you legitimately got the system key for the system that inhibited you, that the sys-admin will gladly fix the problem.
