Correct P/N for pager universal interface?

Post by Logitec »

Anyone know the correct part number for the pager universal programming interface (one that will work for the Advisor Elite)?

I have seen both: NRN8815 and NLN3548.

There is a pretty big price difference between those two.

Thanks.

Does anyone have specifications for the Motorola Part Number NRN8815 (Universal Interface)? I am trying to identify the voltage, current, power supply polarity, and size.

The NLN8815 is the interface itself, the NLN3548 is the interface with data cables and a power supply.

FWIW that power supply should be NLA, as the universal interfaces are marked for cancel upon depletion, as the new programming cradles coming out shortly do not require an interface and are straight USB -> cradle.

I sincerely doubt you'll be able to order power adapters individually, it took me 3 months to get one off a product planner's desk, and they are not orderable through MOL or Customer Service.

Serial VX160 vx5 programming cable. It has 4 contact. Sleeve, ring, ring, tip. They can be bought off ebay for around 10.00. I built a cradle. I used what I had laying around. I used a 1/8 female to 1/4 male stereo, then a 1/4 stereo jack. I placed that inside a shallow outlet box and ran two soldered paper clip to the correct leads up through a cut to size perf board. I drilled a hole for my radio programming cable to plug in the adapter. works great. Too bad I cannot post pics. If you need more info, PM me and I can send pics in an email to you.

Total cost of programming cradle was around $12-$15
