just curious if anybody knows where i can get some information on building a link repeater out of 2 M120's. im basically trying to use this as a mobile or field repeater that would TX and RX on two seperate frequency sets, one for the field units it is communicating with and one set for communication with the main repeater. just wondering a few things
1. can M120's be used for this type of repeater?
2. what RICK model(s) would work for this project?
3. does the base repeater need to be set up in a special way to make this system work?
any info on this or repeater linking in general would be greatly appreciated. i checked out the article on repeater-builder, but it didnt seem to be written very well so that i never knew what he was talking about.
thanks

Certainly. The 16 pin connector has all the necessary I/Os needed to make a repeater.

Well, there's only one model of Motorola R.I.C.K. but there are lots of other controllers you could use, such as the i20R, or Zetron or CAT offerings. Not to mention one built by our very own board member, Will.
In fact you don't even need a controller at all, you can hook the radios directly together with a couple of components as seen in this link here:

Making a repeater with 16-pin Motorola radios is generally very straight forward to do.

The diagram in the above mentioned PDF is a good one to build. A lot of good tech info.

Here is a description of the 'Extender' function some call a 'crossband repeater', and my plug and play Extender Module.

I know this thread is old but, are these documents available anymore? The links don't seem to work. Does anyone have anything more to share? Thanks.
