I just bought an 05 Chevy Silverado Ext cab and was wanting to install a uhf X9000 and possibly a vhf maxtrac or spectra. on my 96 I could find under the dash a fuse block to hook up the orange and green leads can't seem to find on this truck. Also the 96 has a stud on the box under the hood not so on this either any help would be appeciated. Steve

Hello,
I finally started my cdm install on my 05 chevy trailblazer i used the stud that came from the battery.... ran right to one side of my 30 amp breaker(forget the proper term) then to the radios.. with no problems..
the hard part is finding places for the heads...

I think GM Trucks has the fuse blocks underneath the hood now. I am sure the Avalache and Trailblazer do.

The 99-05 pickups have a large distribution block or fuse box under driver side engine compartment. if you want a power point you will have to remove lids and then unsnap the whole shroud that covers the fuse box; under there, are some power points. An easier place is next to the engine itself. A red square box is labeled with a (+) you can fuse your equipment and an tap there. You just loosen the 17mm nut that hold the power cable.
