CDM1250 - DTMF Rx signalling

Post by CuriousGeorge »

Can a CDM1250 use DTMF as a Rx signalling system?

I have one DTMF signalling system setup and it does show up in the drop-down menu as an option for transmit signalling but does not appear in the menu as a receive signalling system. For that, I only get the choices of None, MDC-1200 or Quick-Call II signalling systems.

Just experimenting right now.. have a channel where we want PTT IDs but not all the radios are MDC capable. We could add MDC encoders to them but have other plans for the space where that would go; since the radios can do DTMF ANI natively, we were considering that as an alternative.

In order to support DTMF decode, the Professional Series radios will require the AAHLN9729C DTMF decode option board.

For a mobile, you will also need the install kit, although I do not currently have the part number in front of me.
