Have a MSF500 C74CLB 7106 Tired of running to the two way shop to reprogram. Has anyone tried to convert the anolog station to the CXB by changing the controller board?

My two bits worth:
The only difference that you need to deal with is that the CLB control board supplies +5V to the receive circuits via ribbon connector pin 9.
In the CXB this line is R-2 strobe.
Install a jumper from the +5V supply to pin 9 of the ribbon connector.
I usuially place a small jumper on the solder side, around the strobe driver, and the collector resistor.
There are detail differences between the various bands of operation in the audio and squelch circuits. I am not sure how this effects performance.
There is a capacitor in the 5V supply on the interconnect board, which is under the RF casting that is likely bad. (1000 uf/16V)
I find that it is easiest to remove the front end casting to get at it, rather than remove the interconnect board.
I can also make code plugs for the CLB, and I also e mail the .bin file if you have a programmer.
