Seeing I do not live in the US, I thought it might be easier to ask here, but what is the going price in US$ on a brandnew XTS3KIII.

It depends very significantly what FLASHport options you want.

As was stated it depends on what flash options you want to have in it. Expect to pay dearly for ones like IMBE and Smartzone while others like Digital ID display are much cheaper.

You should expect to be in the neighborhood of $2800 for analog and conventional operation all the way up to $3800 for IMBE and smartzone.

Some one might be able to give you more exact numbers. At some point there was a link to a price book here but I cant seem to find it.

First, don't forget you can get an XTS5000 for the same price as an XTS3000.

Asking how much one of these costs is like asking how much for a new Ford. You really have to specifiy your exact requirements.

A fully decked out, Ruggedized Tier III with Smartnet/Smartzone 3600 trunking, P25 trunking, CAI, UCM, AES, DES-OFB, multikey, and ID display will have a list price of around $6400. [that's before you add a charger, extra battery, extended service plan, etc.]

If the application is for public safety, you may fall under state contract pricing which will knock off a few percent.

Bare bones xts5000 (and when i say bare i mean bare) is aroun $1500. Start adding things to it and the price goes up exponentialy.

A FULLY LOADED/FULLY OPTIONED XTS 3000 or XTS 5000 (e.g., with multi encryption, trunking, etc) will top out around $6,700, list. The price can go even a little higher with an optional battery choice (as opposed to the standard battery).

A typical new list price with IMBE, trunking, and single encryption is around $5,700, or so.

I don't see why anyone would buy an XTS 3000 new, as the XTS 5000 is the identical price. The XTS 3000 is due to be discontinued any time now.

How can you get a xts5000 for $1500.00 bare bones? I was looking into one but can't get that price.

The cheapest list price on an XTS-5000 (Conventional, as Trunked is way more expensive) equipped with IMBE would be $2,948. It makes no sense to order an XTS if you don't plan to ever use IMBE. And, if you add IMBE later on to your analog XTS-5000, it will run you $900, plus the $2,433 analog radio = $3,333. So, it's either spend about $3,000 now for an IMBE equipped bare bones XTS-5000, or $3,333 for an XTS-5000 with IMBE added in the field.

If you don't need encryption (which, by the way, would add around $750 to the above bare bones prices), then why not consider a brand new XTS-1500, equipped with IMBE, for $1,300 list, or around $1,000 (or less!) street price?

We just ordered several XTS-1500's in UHF Conventional, so I will report on its performance relative to our XTS-5000's, as soon as we have a chance to try them out.

No.

IMBE is an option. You can either order it or not [although I'm with Larry on this - why would you order an XTS that is analog only?]

Conventional operation is listed separately on the price pages - but it really isn't an option. You must order one of the feature set packages - H35 Conventional operation, H37 Smartnet operation, or H38 Smartzone operation. Each higher feature package includes all the features of the lower packages.

Conventional simply means the radio does not do trunking.

Back in the days before digital scanners, he bought an XTS3000 to for listening to the cops on ASTRO, his business frequency and UHF CB. He ended up with a bare bones analogue conventional set, of course, and when he wanted it upgraded, neither the dealer nor Motorola wanted to know about it.

I purchased a used conventional XTS3000 III for my personal use from a fellow Batlabber. I was curious about the radio and wanted to learn how to program it. I also like the ergonomics of the radio. In particular I like the offset volume knob, large channel knob, the lighted channel bezel and the two position concentric switch. (I use this for talkaround). I currently use MT2000 for my fire department work. I have started to transition to my XTS3000 the more comfortable I become with it. When the radio is in my pocket I can tell exactly where I am as far as channel and talk around status by feel. No other radio offers this. I also need a display due to the endless number of channels our county utilizes. Yes it was a pricy purchase but for me was the next progression in my hobby. Best of luck on your quest for a XTS

Brand new quote today on a XTS5000 MOD 3 UHF R1 range with H-35 Flash and analog information. Radio $2,483.00. Coventional System Software $799.00. Just a bit more than the Aussies! This pricing included a standard battery but the charger was $99.00.

Can someone tell me, is that a standard Flashcode for these radio's worldwide..?? I have one on it's way to me with many flashport options in it, but it doesn't appear to have Conventional Operation and Conventional Voting Scan in it.... My question really is are those two Conventional options standard in the radio regardless of what the flashcode says...??

If not, looks like I take a trip to a dealer and have them installed!!
