I have the above mentioned radio and I am utilizing it for conventional use only. I have it programmed for MDC-1200 to send the ID on post. However, when I have a speaker microphone connected to the radio, the radio emits a short beep when ever the PTT is pressed on the speaker mic only. It will not emit the beep when the PTT is pressed on the radio, even if the speaker mic is pressed. If I program the radio to send the MDC-1200 ID on Pre, I get this short tone, then I get the pre-determined length MDC-1200 tone set in the programming. Anyone have any ideas or suggections on how I can get rid of this short beep I have. I have gone over and over the programmin gin the radio and I can not figure it out.

Thanks,

Probably a firmware issue. It's been discussed here before. DeLuca radios are prone to doing it.

Here's one thread:
