xts5000 problems any ideas

I just bought a xts500 its a 123abc1234 radio .. it seems to work fine except for when i first turn it on i can't use any of the buttons or switches or knob for about 60 seconds or so after that it works fine .. eveything works fine astro and all just for that one problem .. looking for sugggestions on how to fix it.....thanks

take the radio apart and see if there is any water damage.
pay close attention to the area under the RF board where the battery contacts are.
all of these radios sat in 4ft of water for a few hours.

I thought I remember seeing a PSB regarding this issue. A firmware update was the fix. A problem for the one you have.
Maybe someone here with access to the older PSBs can confirm.

If it was in water then that explains the mistake between 3 and 4, if probably was sitting in 3 fathoms of water which I think would be close to 4 feet on land.
