dual mount for tir3?
ok, i've seen the dual mount that has two tir3's stack one on top of the other, but i'm looking for a dual mount bezel that puts them end to end so i'd have one loooong looking led. do they make them like that or am i gonna have to fab something up? this is a surface mount bezel i'm looking for. ...in black if i'm allowed to be that picky.
thanks
thanks

I think without fabricating something yourself this is as close as you'll find

that one from VLS looks like you just screw two bezels onto it. i'm putting the bezels on a body panel so that's not what i had in mind. thanks though. what i was thinking was a dual-bezel that i could take the two LED lenses into so that they kinda touch where they meet in the middle.
hey kit, you got a pic of what you're talking about?

well checked whelen.com and i saw a rbkt2 which is just a piece of sheet metal bent on a brake. if there's another bracket on the site like the one i described, i can't find it.

Um, so are you looking for side by side or top/bottom? The RKwhatever is the side by side, and that's the closest your going to get. They sit right next to each other.
You may have seen one of the simliigter/52-500 series lights heads that are nice and long, but the RKxx bracket is the only one out there besides custom jobs.

yeah, i'm looking for side by side. those .pdf files show my point exactly. the top & bottom mount uses a special dual bezel. the side by side way just uses two single bezels next to each other. i was hoping there was a dual bezel for mounting side by side. looks like it's gonna be more custom work. whoopie.

Maybe I am a little dense here, but isn't this side by side what you are looking for? Its one solid piece of mounting frame....with two spots for two TIR3 lightheads.
You said you are looking for side by side, and I don't think you can get any better than that.
Can you draw something in MS Paint and show us what you want?

exactly. you guys know what i'm talking about now. i think that if there was a one piece bezel that it would hold both light heads securely enough without needing the center set of screws, but i won't know until i try it.

I guess the question is why do you want them so close together?
I've got a pair of amber TIR3's mounted in front of the rearview mirror in my truck, and I'm using the two screws in the center, and to be honest once I get a few feet away I can still tell that there's two lenses but I can hardly see the gap between them.
In order to have them appear as if they were one solid lens, you would have to shear off the metal tabs in the center so they'd sit right next to each other, and as others have mentioned then you would have no real good way to solidly mount the units.
I love the TIR3's because of how bright and compact they are, but if you really want something that looks like one seamless solid unit, perhaps you'd want to consider a truly integrated two-unit LED flasher.

How about a dual TIR3 Dominator?I guess the question is why do you want them so close together?

Y'know, I only found out about those after I'd already purchased the seperate TIR3 modules :) Oh well. I actually am pretty happy with how they came out. I had somewhat limited space in which to mount them so I created a custom bracket that set them side by side. I'll try and get a picture or two when I get home today.fd2119 wrote:How about a dual TIR3 Dominator?
