GR500: How to reset ZR340 Programming Code?

Attention GR500 guru's -

I've got a GR500 with the Zetron ZR340 advanced controller. According to the manual, the default programming password is 12123. Unfortunately, the previous owner must have changed this password because I can't access the controller, either via the RF or telephone interface.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Can you manually reset the CPU somehow to force it back to default settings? The GR500 manual does not mention a physical hardware reset option on the ZR340.

Thanks

Bump

Anyone have a positive working experience with Zetron themselves? Would it be worth calling them for tech support on this old controller?

well, checked my manual on the zr340 and appendix on page a8 says that if you need to reset to default programming 91# is what to use. this info comes from manual #6880903z43-a oct 1997

Thanks I have the manual too.

The problem is - that reset code can only be entered AFTER you have already entered into the programming mode... which you cannot get into if you don't know the 5-digit programming access code.

Good news though, I found the new programming code in the previous owner's journal. So all is well for me now

TO RESET THE ZR340 HOLD THE CONNECT BUTTON WHILE THE UNIT IS OFF AND POWER IT ON UNTIL THE PHONE LIGHT ON THE UNIT FLASHES. THE PROGRAMMING IS BASICALLY THE SAME AS THE ZETRON MODEL 30 WHICH IS ALL OVER THE WEB IN PDF FORM! HOPE THIS INFORMATION HELPS!!
