I'm looking to install some radio gear into my 04 Ford Expedition. I have noticed some KILLER custom installs and honestly, I have installed a couple radios before in a previous 01 expedition but wanted something extreemly clean. Something with an adapted console 'cover' to the current console? The only problem I can 'see' would be that there are 2 sets of 'seat' controls that control the cooling and heating to the seats (ac/heat rocker switch and then a speed/variable wheel) that are built into the console, as seen in the last picture. Anything else, the 12v plug or cupholders are not important to me.

Anyone have any ideas? Pics posted below.

What are you going to put in it? Havis has a really nice console that fits the 04 Expedition. It's made to fit in the place you're talking about, and will fit 12" of faceplates at a max depth of 7.5".

I'm basically concerned about access to those seat switches.. other than that.. that looks darn good. Does it come in any other 'colors'? Just thougth I'd ask..

A couple a7 remote mount spectras an arrow stick controller and maybe the SS2000 controller, but not sure yet. thats all. (yeah i know thats it? upto 3 spectras and my little xm controller 'stick on'.) the key for me is for it to blend in and look 'factory' as best it can from adding a billion items.

Hey at least I acknowedge the fact that I'm asking too much sometimes.

Not sure if they will do a personal vehicle install, however, I've seen Allcomm's work before in person, and they seem to do a very good job.

Thanks I'll check them out.

those are standard tab locked ford switches in there, nothing too special. I would imagine if you were careful enough (and moderately skilled) you could relocate those switches to the front / side of a console and flushmount them w/ the original wiring. The hardest part might be the dremel work cutting the switch faces out and make it look install-sexy.

I think those are center-off switches... if you use a Havis console, get a Havis switch panel with the 3-position switches and wire the seats up to that... a switch is a switch. They'll even do custom legends, if memory serves.

Thats a great idea actually.... Hmmmm.. I know I'm not as skilled as I would want to be. If anyone does installs in the Mass area and would be interested in working on my veh., drop me a line.
