I have a tablet pc on the way and what I would like to get is a mount that would utilize the 2 screw bolts on the passanger side and then I could take the mount with the tablet pc off and put it in the trunk when im not using it but leave the base attached to the seat. If I have a permenete mount the gf will have to sit in the backseat...dont think she will like it that much...any info here? ...lol'

Btw the car is a Honda Accord Yr 2000

thanks

I was more lookin for something that would bolt to the passenger seat bolts so that someone can still sit in the seat. Where would the gf have to sit? heh,heh I know something out there might exist. This is for a tablet pc so maybe I might have to get semi creative..but in no hurry...Im going to have a major operation soon so Im going to be off the road for a long time...wish me good luck everyone

Been down that road twice since January. Good luck, we'll be pulling for you to have a quick and easy recovery.

Get Well Soon!!

And, as for a mount, i have used a few of those cheapos on eBay, the ones made from pipe, it's easy to fab up a piece to put under the front seat bolt. Then if you want to you can unscrew the vertical piece of pipe from the mounting flange and set the whole works in the back seat or the trunk or whatever so the gf can sit and snuggle.

do you have a link for that one...yea im going insane all ...I have been in my house for the last 4 days. I had my MRI along with my 24th Birthday Yesterday. The gf came by and brought me cake...my favorite kind I may ask and it was delicious......was it her or the cake...heh,heh well the doc is nice and going to be out till next Thursday so I will have to wait till then. The meds they gave me still are causing pain and I have to wear a Removeable walking cast that looks like a space boot. And it even has a built in pump. I'll get through it withmy Trusty Motorola Radio. My Powerbook and the internet....especially echolink are helpin me pass the time. As soon as I can get better and get the honda back from aka "mom" then I will be happy. Until then im riding front passenger seat in the mini van:(

Well my minivan is well stocked with radios and other electronic goodies, so that wouldn't be a boring ride in mine! LOL

There is two laptop mounts on eBay that i have used or seen installed, the first of which is just a simple one made from pipe and fittings, its cheap, simple, and nearly foolproof. The base for the laptop holds it nice and solid, and overall it works great! You could actually construct one yourself with parts from the local hardware store and make up a mounting plate for the laptop. It's all standard pipe fittings and a couple pieces that are cut to length and threaded. But for the price it's a pretty good deal once you add up the cost of all the fittings and having the store thread the pipes. What's nice about it also is that you can customize it with a trip to the hardware store.

Here is a little more fancy model that moves and so forth. I haven't personally used this one but know a couple that has it in their SUV. It has enough adjustability that when the wife is along she swings it around and adjusts it so she can type or view the map and give directions, etc. A nice mount for the price.

Both low buck options.

If you get on Echolink there is a repeater here on there, its listed as the NØTAW Link to the WAØYIN repeater. It's been up and down lately due to some computer and interface problems but its generally on 24/7.

Though this weekend the repeater is down because of a tone board problem, lol!!

Echolink...

Brian,

I put your callsign on my Echolink alarm list. I'm usually signed around 1900 EDT every evening, which would of course be 1600 out your way.

Keep 'em flyin', or whatever, and good luck to you.

Regards,

I think the simple solution here would be to put your g/f in the trunk when not in use..no bolts or anything... :D

I think that's probably the last thing he wants, the radio is a way to get away from her perhaps??

Just wait till you get married and have kids.

Well the Tablet pc is not fast enough so I might as well carefully use...Notice I said carefully use my Powbook with the Gps in the car...not worth spending $400-$500 on a 400mhz tablet pc....

Laptop im going to be using now is a 12 inch Apple Powbook...any suggestions...yea I know its a Apple...but whens the last time its crashed? Never :P
