What band is your radio currently on ? HT600's will not go 403-470
UHF splits are 403-433 438-470 470-500

The bandsplit set in the RSS has to match the split of the RF board present in the radio.
As RadioSouth already pointed out to you, there is three splits available on the RF board.
You can't just set it to whatever you want in the RSS. This is the number one reason for radios needing repair in my opinion. I get a couple a month or sometimes more that someone thought they could just change the split on them to get what they needed.
If the hardware can't do it, neither can the software!

KB0NLY points out an important fact on the Genisses series radios. I mite add that the radio is NOT broad banded and will NOT cover the entire stated frequency range, or 'bandsplit'. RF alignment is required to cover a segment of the range, example 460 to 465 RX and the TX is a little wider about 460 to 467 without degeration.
Even with this small limitation, the HT600/MT1000/P200 are one of the best performing handheld radios M made.
