I'll bet you spent enough $$$ to want that radio to work the best it can. If so, drill the hole.
Did you buy the truck to use or to sell? If you bought it as an investment, you need to go find your financial advisor and string him up. I think you bought it to use it, so go for it man. Besides, the hole, if properly done, won't affect resale value anyway.

yup the guys who can't figure out how to drill a whole...then complain about them not working....Now if he'd hire a professional installer.....
Only foolin Ryan. I've had good luck with the Sti-Co disguess antenna. It replaces the AM/FM and can be tuned on all the bands. Did the ATF guys with those.

If you are worried about resale value after drilling a hole, here's a thought. A past co-worker bought an ex-police Chev. Lumina that came with 2 NMO mounts in the trunk. She removed the antenna mounts (and gave them to me

), took the car to a body shop. They welded a metal plate to the bottom of the trunk and used bondo and colour-match paint to cover it up. A quick wax-job after and you'd never ever ever know there were holes there at all. I think she paid something like $100 for the whole job and they only had the car for half a day.
Make the plunge, you won't look back at no-hole mounts ever again.

Use trunk-lid mounts by antenex mounted to the corners of the hood. bend the antenna slightly at the base to give it that straight look. Ive done this on my pickup and they look and work great, especially if you use the black ones with black antennas.
