I have tried to research it, and I remember reding some talk about it,,but.
Is there an easy way to take a functioning 403 split radio and take 450 rf componenets from a regular spectra can it be changed.
if someone can be specific about what needs to be done, and what components need to be changed that would be awesome..
Thanks, Rob

This exact conversion was discussed in this extensive two page thread: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=38391
You can start with a low range Astro Spectra [cheap] and a high split analog spectra and when you are done have the opposite - a high split Astro and a low split analog [which might be useful for a link transceiver]
You will need service manuals for both products, skill with surface mount rework, a suitable high split codeplug for your finished radio, and certain - ah - 'software' for forcing the new high range codeplug into the low range VOCON.
