I bought this mount used from eBay, was in good shape until the jackhole shipped it improperly.

It was shipped with the key in the lock, it got bent over while in the box and the key snapped off. I found the other key and the head of the broken one laying in the bottom of the box.

The problem is now how to remove the broken key. It's snapped of nearly flush with the key slot. I tried to remove the lock, it was easy enough to remove the mounting plate two allen head screws on the front and the back, but i can't get the lock out. It has a large nut on it to hold it in the panel, i loosened that up all the way but now the moving piece that locks the slide is in the way of taking the nut off so i can remove the lock from the panel.

What's the trick to removing that piece from the lock? I thought it might be like the cabinet locks but there is no clip or opening whatsoever on the body of the lock to remove that piece.

Also, does anyone know any info on the power supply located in the top plate? This one has a built in supply with the power switch on the front. I was wondering what it's amperage rating is and if the voltage is adjustable. Would be nice if it worked with the laptop i was planning on using.

To remove the key, you can try using a safety pin bent into a small hook at the tip to reach in and try to wiggle the key out. Get the little hook you made into the first cut of the key. This will take patience, but if you can get the key in, it should work. You might also try combining this with some really thin better quality tweezers. Get that key pulled out enough and grab it with the tweezers.

The only thing to be sure of is that the lock is turned into a position where the key will come out. Some locks have to be open or closed only to get the key out.

Well, it took a couple hours of poking, but with the combination of a few pieces of various shapes and sizes of wire i finally got it out!

Now for one last question.

Does anyone know the size, or even better a part number from some supplier, to get a power plug for a Panasonic Toughbook, model CF-27?

The Gamber Johnson mount i have included a power supply inside and i can set the voltage to the stock 15.1 of the AC adapter for this laptop, but the plug on it is for another brand. Would be great if i could replace the plug and make use of it, would also save me from buying a spendy auto adapter.

The supply built into the mount should do about 9-22v at 4amps. That appears to be the norm with these mounts on their website with the power supply included.

But, i can't find any on the website that look like this one. The power supply is inside the mount on the bottom side of the top plate, and there is a switch on the front next to the lock.

The only numbers i can find are on a white label on the back of it, and they don't bring anything up on the GJ websites search engine.

I searched through that site but couldn't find anything about a replacement power plug. So, i emailed him and will see what happens.

Until then, still looking for a source for the DC Power Plug that is used on the AC and DC adapters for the CF-27 Toughbook.

It would be really nice to find a 90 degree plug like the original so its not sticking out in the way, but for now i'm just trying to find anything.
