Centracon gold elite NT 4.0 to XP upgrade

We are currently running 60 gold elite consoles on NT 4.0 and are looking into "upgrading" to XP and server 2003 for the CDM/ADM. The infrastrucure is a ASTRO 3.0 Smartzone (three Smartzone sites). CEBs are located in three different counties. Has somebody out there been through the same upgrade? If so did you get a formal method of procedure document from Motorola that you would be willing to share? Motorola seems to be trying to over simplify the procedure. In their latest document, there is no mention of the embassy. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated,
Todd

They told us that all the various versions have to line up in their compatibility matrix or they won't guarantee it will work - in other words their support contract will only cover the system if everything is 'certified' to run together.
When we upgraded to the latest shipped version of SZ 3.0 we had to upgrade Gold Elite consoles from NT4, we had new firmware upgrades for the COIM's, BIM's, AMI's, - virtually every card in the system. We had to upgrade the Palladium version, replace the operator position computers, servers, the works.
All the "old" stuff was put in as part of Y2K so we got 4 years out of it.
BTW - we were told that the last official ship version of SZ 3.0 was concurrent with Windows 2000, not XP and that we could not go XP and still be assured of support - so if they have a different story this week - be sure you get it in writing.

Thanks for the info.We are still getting the run around and have told Motorola that we will not meet again until we have the entire procedure in writing. We have heard several different versions from them on what needs to happen. The first was that we must have the z release for our Smartzone, before we could get XP. Then we were told that we could get XP with our current ZC software, but could only get server 2000. The latest word is that we can have XP and server 2003 and it is all "certified". Thanks again for the good advice, we won't do anything until we have it in writing with signoff from upgrade operations.

I'm in the process of doing the Z release for a 3.0 right now and
XP for the Gold Elites and Server 2003 are the software of choice.

Are you using xp and server 2003 now, or do you plan on switching. If not, what os are you using?
Thanks,

Win 2000 is what is currently on the Gold Elites. I don't remember about the server.
