Ok.. so I'm curious... If you had to choose one or the other, which style would you pick? I personally like the Liberty's sleek look, but honestly would want the best performing and most light for the buck... if that makes sense.... I've never used either, so I honestly don't know.

So being a 'newbie', I'm interested in hearing everyone's opinions....

Whelen LED Bars.. Liberty or Freedom ... and why..

They're both absolutely killer lightbars.

IMO, the Freedom, being larger, is best suited for a large SUV (Excursion), large truck, or medium/heavy apparatus. The Liberty, on the other hand, is aimed at patrol vehicles (CV, Impala, etc.)

Several depts. around here, including THP, are running the Freedom on CVs. It doesn't look any more out of place than an Edge 9000 did, but I'd still rather have the short bar with less drag.

A Liberty bar on top of a piece of heavy apparatus looks silly, IMO. It's just too small.

They are both equally as deadly to your retinas. I think the slim liberty would look odd on a huge piece of apparatus.

The nice thing about the freedom is that you can run multiple colors in the same module, and not lose effectiveness

I'm just mainly curious ... Now that you guys mention it, it may look unbalanced on an 04 Expedition. I just had a couple guys talk about how neat it would be to have the smaller liberty on our crash rescue... and I wasnt quite sure how large it was compared to the larger unit.

The Freedom is the same size height wise as the Edge 9000/9M/Ultra bars. Basically, since the Edge series has been out, same height.

The Freedom is based on the Ultra series (LC/HC/SC) and is an inch or two wider to accomidate a better 45degree side strobe/LED and fullsize alleylight or combo module.
