CDM 1550 with quick mount

Got an install coming up. The customer want CDM1550, with the quick mount dual head mount. Aslo a Charge guard to turn the radios off after preset time.

Question is: can we have ignition sense to power up the radios, and when ignition sense is gone, will they then shut off or will they stay on until they time out??

What ever happen to the day of a "normal" quick and easy install??

if the radio is set to follow pin 10, then the radio will follow pin 10 (IGN SENS). If you put a delay timer on it, that hangs the radio for x minutes after the power is shut off...just connect the IGN sens to the out of the timer....and voila, power off when you want it.

CDM1550 installed with remote head

I have a CDM1550 installed in my vehicle using the remote head (single not dual). The system is wired using the remote pwr sense (ignition sense) and set internally with a delay for turning on and off. This prevents the system from the jolt of starting the vehicle as it turns off about 60 seconds after the vehicle is started and then turns off about 60 seconds after the vehicle is shut off. The power knob still controlls the power so the system can be manually turned on or off regardless of the ignition sense state. Hope this helps.

Try using a power tamer to power the radio. It will not surge as it waits a few seconds for the ignition sense to kick in then will power the radio on. can be set to turn off up to 16 hrs. We have had great luck and a minimal failure rate using these timers to power not only our radios but our emergency equipment. Just a suggestion.
