05 suburban hideaways?

I am trying to install the cables for hideaways to my rear back-up and turn signal lights. The power pack is already installed under the 2nd row seat. But, I cannot find a pass through for the cables from under the truck to inside the cab. Where can I pass through without going all the way to the front to the firewall where my front strobes pass through or do I just have to drill a hole in the floor board and install a grommet with plenty of silicone to seal it up?

I put 10 clear bulbs in a 2005 suburban and found that the best way was to punch a hole in the floor and go under the vehicle. Just make sure you use loom to protect the cable and tuck it up into the under carriage. Interesting location for the power supply, under the rear seat. I removed the jack in the rear side panel and put the equipment under that.

Good luck!

Anywhere under the floor pan inside of the frame will work. I brought my cables up on the driver's inside frame area and up through the floor next to the 2nd row passenger seats under the carpet.

There isn't a factory grommet or feedthrough that will work. Be mindful of the gas tank in the burb, its huge and takes up a lot of space.

I have an '02 with strobes in the front and rear. I ran the cables along the walls behind the plastic around the woofer. Get them under the plastic in the back by the rear hatch and run the cables under the truck to the reflectors. I can take some pics if you want. -Scott

I appreciate the response. USMC did you come into the truck there by the black plastic just above the rear taillights? It's a 90 watt power supply with two in the front turn lights and four in the rear reverse and turn lamps. I think it is going to look pretty sweet. The future I hope to install talon led's in the front and back.

That is pretty much what my set up looks like with some other stuff. I went over the rubber seal and under the plastice which linned the carpet and into the sides where the woofer is. I have the power supply under the back seats.

The subwoofer is in the back again on the 05 model year? It was up front inside the factory console on my 03.

hideaways in Suburban

Have a 99 Suburban K2500 (basically the same as a 95). Power pack under second seat. Techs ran cables along inside walls behind padding all the way to the rear where the lights are. Had to temporarily remove the spare and jack mount. There was a small access hole right behind each lense on the inside of the truck and they worked well. Not sure if yours has this access which would make life easier. Also, Mine is a stripped down utility/PD model, not sure if that makes a difference either.

Incidentially mine has red/blue hideaways in the back up lenses and clear hideaways in the red tailight lenses. Also, they managed to put two hideaways in the top mounted stoplight, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how they did it!

Oh yeh, its REAL EASY to drop and lose a screw when re-attaching the lenses!

Good luck!
