I have a new Ford with a new CENCOM installed by the Ford dealer. When ignition key is turned on there is a pop in siren speaker. There are no other siren tones or PA sounds. Dealer says to set lever to level 3 and press wail for siren. This does not work. The button and LED light and there is a chirp, but no sound. I tried putting transmission in drive and still no siren. All lights work good. I checked 12 volts and ground for siren. There is no low level siren sound near amplifier. What else can I try before sending amp back?

Reprogram it.
You can download the newest version of the software off the Whelen website. The cable is a standard USB cable. I'll bet they never enabled the siren tones.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can not use the software to read the current programming. You can set up your profile the way you think it should be, then dump it to the unit. Make more tweaks. Program. Make more tweaks. Program. Until you get it right.

The other possibility is that there's a short somewhere. Possible, but not likely, as the speaker pop is following the ignition.

As Bob said, check the programming. On these units you can individual turn on/off any tone function.
Perhaps park kill?

The newest software revision allows for reading of the program saved in the amplifier. It may not work for amplifiers programmed with an older version software version.

I also suggest contacting the Ford dealer before sending the amplifier back, and let them check the wiring.
