This is very off-topic, but I am wondering if anyone here is familiar with either the Code 3 SuperVisor or WingMan. I was thinking that this set-up in a Chevrolet Impala unmarked would make for a halfways decent package.

The local SO is installing 6-head Wingmans on all new vehicles and SuperVisors on smooth cars (otherwise, it's a 2100 bar with a mixture of Optix, LED-X, and LCLED modules). The smooth cars are absolutely killer.

I'd also recommend something on the push-bumper or behind the grille, potentially LEDs on the mirrors, and a NarrowStik or similar traffic advisor up high in the rear window.

Just to piss Jim off, have you looked at the Whelen InnerEdge?

Wait and get the Whelen InnerEdge.. it's very similar to that, but has Whelen's superior leds, the TIR3 style. I've seen it on a Whelen Demo van, can't be beat.

Kit-

You must mean more Whelen POS. Seriously guys, Whelen's LED technology is far surpassed by 911 EP and Tomar. Don't just look at the blinky blinky lights. Look at the pattern. See where it falls off compared to the others. We have lots of different styles and models set up in the shop, even Whelen, for side by side comparison. We use the right light for the application, not because of the brand. This is not unlike the worship of Mother M that takes place here, when other brands far surpass anything they make for the application. Tir 3 and Tir 6 lights have their application, as well as the Tomar T-LEDs, etc.

Back to the original post- I would use 911EP LS12(s).

"Just to piss Jim off, have you looked at the Whelen InnerEdge"

Damn, they're on their knees worshiping me again!

Nobody's gonna piss me off by using junk.
If you choose to use an inferior product (like a Vertex radio or Whelen Edge) on your vehicle or a customer's vehicle, YOU are the ones that will look like the piss-ant for installing the wrong or inadequate lighting product. 911EP WL28s forever.

BTW, I do have to agree with Kit on Code3 being a POS. I'd buy a Whelen product before taking a free Code 3 product.

Oh, I have PLENTY of Vertex knowledge. Been there, done that and no longer. That's why I stay away from the POS. NYPD means nothing. It just means that Vertex WON THE BID and beat Motorola with a lower number. But of course, as per usual, everyone wants to get on their knees and worship anything at all that says "NY" in its name and think that they make all of the rules. Just like somebody says "well Smeal has to be a good engine because so -and-so city just bought 28 of them." It just means they won a bid.

Since Vertex joined Standard and dumped most of the original Vertex products that were good in their day, they are no longer suited for public safety. Besides, do you want to wait for three months for a replacement part for your Vertex that broke while I continue to talk on my Kenwood or Motorola?

i use kenwoods, vertex and mots. mot's suck at times, kenwoods too. i like my vertex, the problem is, it cuts out when your close to another radio.
