LTR Voting

Sorry if this is old news, but it's new to me. I was looking at some JPS stuff for a trunked voting system. Looks good and I hear they have nice stuff. for reference, check out the .pdf file from the JPS site; http://www.jps.com/downloads/PDFS/ltrapp.pdf

nifty little trick they did with the translation unit. it clips the audio range making it 300-2500hz instead of 300-3000. they use the top 500hz to reinsert the subaudible trunking data so it can be passed over lease lines, t1, etc.

I'm nowhere near ready to do all this yet, but i will be doing a conventional voting system pretty soon for one of the current channels and i'd like to make sure i'm looking far enough into the future so i can use the same equipment if/when i go trunking.

JPS states something about "...It has not been possible until now to add voting capability to LTR trunking..." does this mean that they're the only people that make something like this? does moto have anything that will do this?

my future vision is to have a 5ch (1control+4voice) analog trunked system with every channel being voted from at least 4 sites. not looking for digital or p25 or simulcast or anything like that.

eboe,

The only Analog Comparator Product /\/\ has is the Digitac. For a 5 Receiver Site Conventional System, you would be required to order a Q2981A with the following C175AGSP XMTR Audio & Control Option, a Power Supply and a Cabinet, Open Relay Rack or Delete Mounting Options. Digitac is capable of Conventional or Trunk configurations but I would suggest to contact /\/\'s Digitac Marketing and the Product Group in Schaumburg, IL to verify "if" the comparator is compatible with the LTR Trunking Systems. The Digitac comparator is completely software programmable using Procomm software.

I've read and heard about the JPS Comparators which EF Johnson recommends and uses in many of their Analog systems. These have good reviews by Field Service Personnel.

The only other product I can think about is the Doug Hall Analog Voting comparator and this product has been around for many years.
