Body Repair

I just removed two LED-X lights that were flush mounted on the rear of the truck. Of course they left 3 holes behind each (2 for screws, 1 for the wire) -- Anyone have a tips or secrets about recovering these holes.
Or is it as simple as alittle bondo and some nail polish?

Done right?
Body shop time to fill and refinish the holes plus paint. Figure at least $350+ to do it.
Depending on the hole size you may be able to use rubber hole plugs.

$350+ seems alittle much for 6 little holes. Looks like i'll settle for rubber plugs and just wait until I can justify repainting the hole truck to get the repairs done.

Body work these days is expensive ( thank insurance companies and all the idiots perpetuating fraud against them.)
labor cost is a large part of it.

Thank the tree huggers for a lot of it. Removing lead and other harmful contaminates from the paint and materials. Insurance fraud is another big contributor. Greed factors in as well. $350 does not sound like a bad price at all, some paints can be $200 a pint, clear coat can be as much as well.

Depending on the location and size of the holes, you can always weld them up.
Will hold much better than bondo.
You just have to tack them in very slowly, tack one corner, then wait till it cools or you will warp the hell outta the metal. Don't try using a fan to cool it either. Its tedius but it should be nice when you're done.
After that, a little grinding, some sanding, some bondo, some sanding, some primer, some wetsanding, primer again and you can start painting.
That is if you want to do it yourself.

Any body shop that is professional would weld steel in to patch the holes if requested.

I live in LA so theres a lot of the shady ones.
If you tell them to just patch the holes, its bondo city

Ha! Bondo is only used in the "quality" shops! All the other use the cheapo knock off crap. Worst I've seen is a few vehicles at the junkyards (Up in Sun Valley) that had dents filled with joint compound and then primed and painted.
