Weird XTS5000 screen problems...

Post by Renamon »

If I tx on one of my xts5K's, the screen will bug out; like the clock in the upper left will move around the screen, parts of the screen will go away, and sometimes the entire screen will flip upside down or blank out completely. The radio still functions, like TX RX and menu options, it just sorta goes nuts until you power cycle it. Any thoughts?

Some info:
Host: R03.10.02
DSP: R03.50.01
Secure: R05.02.05

This radio is not an 123ABC1234 radio either...

Thanks!

There was a PSB where the wrong display LCD modules were installed and RF was causing the display to go nuts as you described.

There are specific LCD modules depending on the band,

Really, this radio if VHF-HI. So I am gathering that there may be the wrong lcd display installed in it? So would ordering a new LCD for a VHF xts5k from Motorola fix the issue (more than likely)?
