Hey all. I was wondering if I can update the host and/or DSP in a XTS5000 with the latest CPS for it?
If not, Is my only other option to send the radio to /\/\ to get it updated? <---If thats the case, what am I looking at as far as $$$?
Thanks!

You can purchase a firmware refresh from Moto through your salesman then use the CPS to load the update.
Or you can send it to the depot to get it upgraded.

The firmware refresh alone should be in the neighborhood of $75.

So if I purchase the refresh from motorola, they send me a file/disc - or can I download it from MOL?

A firmware refresh is a kit which contains a CD with the firmware upgrade file on it, and a little piece of hardware called an "I-button reader". The I-button plugs into your parallel port (I believe USB versions are now available) and it contains the information such as how many radios you are allowed to upgrade. If you purchase a single upgrade, you'll be able to upgrade a single radio & that's it. Full instructions are in the kit.
