Astro Saber Convertacom questions

Post by d119 »

I tried searching around for these answers but couldn't come up with them.

What do the different color wires on the convertacom do? I understand Red is B+, Black is ground, I believe Yellow is Ignition, but what is green?

Also, was there a handheld control head made for the Astro Saber convertacom, or is it just the regular Motorola DTMF/Non-DTMF mic series?

If an HHCH was made, what is the part number, and where can one be obtained, and at what cost?

Thanks!

In order:

1) Same as the analog SVA. Look here: http://www.batlabs.com/saber.html

2) It was made, but it reportedly only works with a very specific firmware revision.

3) As nice as it would be, I wouldn't bother. You could spend the rest of your life looking for the right combination of radio, radio firmware, and HHCH firmware.

Do a search for post by user Elroy Jetson. He's da man when it comes to Astro stuff. It's a shame he's not active here much anymore.

Well that sucks that the HHCH is a big mystery... We need to get that one solved.

I notice I have the green wire connected to nothing and the lights on my Convertacom are on...
