small console ideas wanted for 94 s-10 pick 2wd

Vehicle is my old 1994 s-10 pickup 2wd w/bench seat (Iplan to cenvert to bucked at some point, but not too soon)

I am looking for idea for a console to hold 2 a5 and 1 a7 spectras (vhf/uhf/900).

The idea is to have it nestle sort of under the dash.

Recomendations? It needs to be pretty sturdy and not easily stolen.

As it is right now, I have an a5 vhf spectra dash mounted. However with the vehicle actually running the best it has in a few years, I thought I'd add some creature comforts for the work comute.

(To those you who are wondering, no I haven't poped the Durango's cherry yet. I am getting closer though. That might just get a full console-not anythime soon though)

Havis Shields or Jotto Desk 9 inch angled consoles or a adjustable Gamber Johnson 9 inch MCS EPIC console is what you need.

My vote goes with Jotto Desk. I recently installed a 9" Short Stack in my
'02 Dodge Ram. You can view the pictures at:

It is inexpensive, durable, and installs in just a few minutes.

Guess you don't want that Yaesu, Vic? ;) Man, that's just begging to be stolen. :o I hope it doesn't but don't tou ever have any worries about that?

Sglass, you could also mock up your own with nice wood, then stain it. Easy.

I seldom worry about it being stolen because I rarely park in public
parking areas. Even at work it is securely parked behind a locked
gate and in front of the window of our dispatch office.

Also, I always have a sun screen stretched across the windshield if it
is parked anywhere other than my covered parking at home. That,
coupled with my dark tinted windows keeps it from being on display.

here is the site with the spec for the 9inch

http://www.jottodesk.com/Comersus/store ... &status=-1

It's 10.25 in the Back / 6.25 in the front for mounting depth for radios.

If you don't flush mount them they will fit.

Just an additional Option if ever needed

Not that you need an extra inch or 2 in this case - However, wanted to share a trick we use to get an extra inch or 2 of face mounting.. We cut the bottom of the face plates off at the base of the radio, then we stack the radios with the top of the next radio face plate touching the bottom of the radio. To dress it up we use a 1 inch blank down each side for nothing more than looks. We use this all the time with 3 CDMs and a CenCom in a 12inch mount for the drop in countour jotto desk or havis on the expeditions. dont have a pic of a 9inch with it, but have used it with just about every size console out there- its just an option that might work for this any others if you run out of space.. Heres a few pics .

Here is my 2002 S10. 8" Havis-Shields console on a trak-mount, using a CVPI no-holes floor bracket that was widened by 2" at the base. Image

Live in MD, work in DC. Is your bench is a 100% bench instead of a 60/40 like mine? I wish I had buckets instead...

I know this is an old post, but was wondering if you ever found a solution to a console on the 94 S10 or some other way of mounting 3 spectras ?

Thanks
Bill

Because of the space constrictions in my S-10, I resorted to just remote faces for everything. Here is a link to the thread I have over on radioreference.com of my install.
