Maratrac data squelch ?

Post by n9ysu »

I have a vhf hi Maratrac that tries to eliminate the mdc data on transmissions... which ordindarily is good, however, I also notice that it does the same thing for FD QCII tones for certain depts... I'll get the A tone, but the B tone is muted. Gets kind of annoying after a while.. .Is there any way to program around this? I looked in the RSS, but didn't see anything.. I know on some of my other radios, I can program the DOS on or off....

Go to F2 RADIO Configuration: Time Out Timer, Options

On the RADIO-WIDE CONFIGURATION page, select F8 SIGNALLING OPTIONS.

On the SIGNALLING OPTION SELECTIONS page, select "STAT-ALERT", then select F8 CHANGE VIEW.

On that page, drop down to RECEIVE HOLDOFF DELAY and select "No Delay."

F10 to go back to the SIGNALLING OPTION SELECTIONS page and select QUICK CALL, then F8 CHANGE VIEW.

If the CALL TYPE is "SelCall", you'll see UNMUTE CONDITION below it.
The choice is "PL or ID" and "PL and ID". Below that will be QUALIFY MESSAGE WITH PL/DPL. Use the F1 HELP function on each of these options to figure out which functions you want to enable or disable.

For the UNMUTE CONDITION, the OR function ("PL or ID") is the one you want.

For the QUALIFY MESSAGE WITH PL/DPL, the choice depends on what you chose in the UNMUTE CONDITION selection and whether the tones on the channel in question are sent out with or without PL. If the PL is "stripped" when the tones are being broadcast, then "Disabled" is what you want. That covers all situations whether the PL is stripped or not. "Enabled" will limit what you hear in more ways than one.

Hope all this helps.
curmudgeon.....and I like it.
