Can a Hirose Mike be used on an Astro Saber w. a Surv adapt?

Post by cryptoman »

I have a couple of HMN9083D speaker mikes with Hirose connectors on them, which I
use with Expo HT's. I have an NTN5664D Surveillence Audio Accessory Adapter
("D" type) that I put on the back of my Astro Saber HT and plugged the mike in.

It kind of works. The audio from the mike's speaker is okay at low volumes, but gets
distored when the volume is turned up to a decent level. I tried a different mike, but
got the same results.

Anyone able to sucessfully do this, or know if this speaker mike is compatable with
the Astro Saber, or if the adapter is compatable for that matter?

Its weird, becuase i have some speaker mics that will work with both the saber and the astro saber. so the chances the highrose will work is good.

I have a remote ptt box for use with a david clark headset that works on both radio's too (its forsale by the way).
