Minitor III - Intermittent Beep on Long Tone Page?

Hello all,

I apologize if this question has been answered already. I've searched the forums but most questions along this line have to do with two tone paging, not long tone. The department I'm on gets paged out with a single long tone (8 second duration). I think this is a leftover from the days when we had separate city and rural departments (for a town of 700 people, can you believe that?), and when they combined they just started using the long tone so they didn't have to reprogram pagers from one of the departments.

I would like to get my pager to alert with the intermittent beep ("beep beep beep beep beep" instead of "beeeeeeeeeeep") when we get toned out with the long tone. Is this possible? If so, how do I set up the codeplug to achieve this? Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Andy

Nope. Most places use the long-tone for a group page (A-C/Long C, where A-C gets individual departments (varying A tones) and a Long C gets every department). Hence the differing beeps. I've never found a way to make a long tone give the intermittent beep, short of changing tones (impractical).

That's what I kind of thought from what I've read and from using the software. Oh well!

Thanks,

would there be a way to program it kinda like the ge's T99 feature? If not, that sucks. the ge way would have that single long tone being the only tone programmed... into the second spot (out of 4 possible spots)... that is how you program it to keep quiet on the weather channel, and the long tone (1050.0 hertz) sets it off.

Set it for single long-tone alert only? Sure, very do-able. Stlll gives you a solid beep, though.
