Should my GM300 RSS, HVN8177A, ver R05.00.00 dated 01-10-94 program a GR 300 repeater with the ZR310 community repeater panel, or do I need a newer version?
This version programs the two radios fine, but I get nothing from the controller. No serial ACK.

That would be becasue the Zetron repeater controllers are generally prgrammed using DTMF tones. I would suggest getting the manuals for it, or see if you can dig one up on the internet as I only know so much. Possible another member could help you to.

Good luck.

Well, its made by ZETRON for Motorola, and ZETRON will not tell you anything about it.
Is not a regular ZETRON as far as that goes.
And, supposedly it programs with GM300 RSS, but mine won't work, so I was checking to see if other people have been getting this RSS to work.
That would mean that I have a hardware problem.

The ZR310 can be programmed with a special RSS or over the air from a portable. This RSS is not the normal GM300 RSS used for programming the radio. There is a pedefied manual available.

Nand.

Just looking and it looks like the same RSS does program the ZR unit.

You must have the software in repeater mode for it to read/write the controller. Otherwise, it will act like you don't have anything connected. The software version you have should be fine.

If you need step by step instructions, drop me an email. I've helped setup two GR300s with these controlers in them for my local radio club.
